Abstract
This research aims to highlight the importance of artificial intelligence technology in higher education, its objectives, know the role of artificial intelligence in developing the educational process and the extent of its effects, identify the employment of artificial intelligence in higher education between opportunities and challenges, and finally know the role of artificial intelligence applications in supporting scientific research.
This study relied on the descriptive approach using the social sample survey method, using a questionnaire form that was applied to a sample of (398) students from the Faculty of Computers and Information at Mansoura University, in addition to using in-depth interviews with (12) members of the faculty at the Faculty of Computers and Information in different fields. Their academic degrees and specializations at Mansoura University, which was designed in order to obtain more in-depth data on the subject of the study, in a way that achieves the research objectives. The results of the study concluded that there are many challenges facing the implementation of artificial intelligence in higher education, represented in data governance, management, and integration in a proper manner. Ineffective, insufficient technical expertise, high costs for artificial intelligence applications, privacy, security and ethical considerations, and finally the lack of the necessary infrastructure for artificial intelligence, poor qualification of teachers and development of their skills to adapt to learning technologies.
